Reluctant Landlord Numbers Up
New research from the Association of Residential Letting Agents found that reluctant Landlord are on the increase and the trend appears to be most prevalent in the north-east of the UK, with 58 per cent of organisations reporting such a rise.
This compares with just 15 per cent in central London, while in the third quarter of the year 34 per cent of member Estate Agent offices experienced an increase in the number of properties being advertised for rent because they cannot be sold.
It could be a good move as a recent survey by countrywide Countrywide reported that over 61,000 people registered for tenancies in the third quarter of the year, up by 19 per cent on the previous three-month period.
